Attilio Zamperoni was a central figure in the cultural life of Asolo and Treviso: he was an esteemed tenor, a tireless cultural promoter and the fervid mind behind several cultural projects, some of them very successful also on an international level. Withsuch the Musical Encounters Festival and the Asolo Friends of Music, both founded by him, he was able to bring to Asolo the most renowned protagonists of the international music world: the violinist Salvatore Accardo, the flautist Severino Gazzeloni, the pianist Svjatoslav Richter, the violinist Bruno Giuranna and the European Union Youth Orchestra.
In 2001, he decided to devote all his energies and his contagious passion to the resurrection of the oldest and most prestigious International Festival of Films on Art, the Asolo Art Film Festival, founded in 1973 by the journalist and film critic Flavia Paulon: thanks to his charisma and through the work of the non-profit organization A.I.A.F. -AsoloInternationalArtFestival first, and ALA-ArmoniosoLabirintoAsolano then, Asolo Art Film Festival gained again its international renown, becoming one of the most important events in this field. Thanks to Attilio the Festival became, above all, a moment of encounter, of knowledge abd of dialogue among different cultures. It became a moment of celebration and friendship, beyond any linguistic, cultural and educational barrier, teaching us to recognize and appreciate how much we can learn from other cultures.
In loving memory of Attilio, AAFF is committed to keep the Festival alive, with the help of his and our friends all over the world.
